Interior Trends 2021
How Covid has influenced home interiors.

I think we can all agree that 2020 wasn’t what any of us had expected. 2020 with all the ups and downs continued to 2021, having to face situations that we may or may not have watched played out on a TV screen. Well with the Covid situation came the lockdowns, which lead to an immense amount of time being spent at home.

Interiors pre Covid had a different purpose, we wanted our Living rooms to impress or to spend time with family over a movie or in most cases just exist as a space that is essential to a home space. Most Dining tables were unused as people had no time after a hectic day to sit at the table and eat, rather we would catch up with things that were happening around us and would prefer to chat over the phone or text or even catch up on that TV series, you get the idea.
All of that changed over the period of Lockdowns, our dining tables found new purpose, our working corners that gathered dust and papers, were cleaned.

With Covid came new home interior trends. And 2021 is no exception.
Rustic Glamour

This interior tread is a fusion of worn out furniture with clean lines (new furniture made to look like years of wear and tire have taken place but if you have a few special pieces which can be used, go right ahead. After all what’s better than original) and weathered wood that are combined with bright shades and white.
And let’s not forget the Glamor part, this trend wouldn’t be complete without the dazzle.

Tropical Inspirations

Since we no longer can travel (for the time being at least) to exotic locations, why not bring a feel of those dream destinations home. The bright, bold trend brings that much needed cheerfulness into the home. At the core of this trend it comes down to utility, ease and comfort. Inspiration is drawn from nature so you can expect a lot of tones from greenery, the sky and sea.

Vintage, Repurposed And Renovation

Vintage design is elegant, timeless, old fashioned and back in trend. Don’t throw away your grandparent’s furniture. Old furniture can be repurposed to fit perfectly into your existing interior layout. Not always is it required to change an entire space, you can think about renovative your living room for example with the existing furniture and home accessories.
Colour Tones

This year’s colour trend would depend on which major trend setter in the field you follow or read about. Here are a few of the colour tones that I personal and professionally like.
Navy hues have always been a gorgeous colour and it plays well with other tones, creating a rich effect.
Shades of Green, since tropical inspired interiors are trending, this has to be on the list.

Pale Pink or Millennial Pink colour trend, it’s bright and soft. Also this was more of a trend in 2020, but I feel since we hadn’t gotten a whole lot from last year, this should be on the list.

Grey And Yellow, to me a perfect combination. These two colours when combined in a room convey hope, optimism, unity and stability, some of the few things we’re all looking forward to this year.
