Interior Design Trends for 2017

Soft whites, shades of blue and purple are on trend for 2017. Make a splash with these colors on a focal wall, a new sofa, or accents throughout a room. Lighter shades of these colors promote calmness, while brighter shades invigorate!

Chalk painted and distressed furniture pieces are becoming increasingly popular as we move into 2017. Look for them in side tables, dining tables, chairs, and furniture legs on upholstered items. These can come with a higher price tag, so if you like to DIY, this is a great place to do it, and save money!

Taupe walls are so in right now! Falling into the neutral realm of a mix between the greys and tans of the past, taupes provide a beautiful backdrop to the soft whites and blues in furnishings. Wide painted stripes are also getting lots of attention. Go for it, and watch how many compliments you get!

Design Trends 2016

Pillows, of course, continue to be a popular way to accessorize furniture pieces. Go for bold colors, modern prints, and lots of texture. Keep artwork simple. Black and white photos look classic and elegant or try a modern print with amazing colors. Copper is the latest trend in metallics, however a little bit goes a long way, so don’t overuse it in the space.
